1 applicator (2 ml) with solution contains permethrinum 1,300 mg
Spot-on solution. Yellowish, clear solution.
Target animal species
Dogs (from 15 to 30 kg).
Mode of action:
The product is applied to the skin in order to achieve local effect in particular. The product contains a sophisticated combination of adjuvants making up a system helping the active substance to absorb into the upper layers of the skin (stratum corneum, upper layer of the epidermis) and form a deposit here. The product is then released from the deposit over a long term.
One recommended dose of TOP SPOT ON DOG M provides protection against tick infestation for up to 4 weeks and against flea infestation for up to 3 months.
Indications with specification for the target animal species
Therapeutic and preventive use in dogs against ectoparasites – fleas and ticks.
Do not use in cats; the product is toxic to them! Do not use in puppies under 3 weeks of age. Do not use in animals hypersensitive to the active substance or some of the adjuvants.
Reduced animal handling is recommended for 12 to 24 hours following application. Keep the animals off from direct sunlight. The animals should not be bathed for 12 hours after the treatment. Shampooing may have a negative effect on the length of protection.
Parasites may become resistant to any group of ectoparasitics after a frequent, repeated use of an ectoparasitic from the same group, with the same mode of action.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
Do not use the product in combination with other insecticide ectoparasitics.
Amounts to be administered and method of administration
Only for administration as a spot-on.
Dogs from 15 to 30 kg – apply the contents of the applicator (2 ml) to the skin in the area between the shoulder blades and the root of the tail of dogs of medium-sized breeds.
Method of administration
Hold the applicator upright and tap the neck several times with your finger. Carefully break the top off using twisting motion. Pull the hair of the animal apart at the withers in front of the shoulder bones to expose the skin. Apply the adapter tip to the skin and squeeze the applicator several times to empty the whole contents of the applicator directly to the skin. Do not rub in.
Repeat the procedure if the dogs get wet or are shampooed after the treatment. The interval between the individual applications should be at least 7 days.
Temporary skin irritation may occur at the site of application. If this occurs, rinse the animal with water and protect against getting cold. If the adverse reactions persist, seek veterinarian assistance.
Protect from light. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
Not to be used for food-producing animals.
This product is extremely toxic to cats and its administration to cats may cause their death due to the specific physiology of cats that are unable to metabolize certain substances including permethrin. To prevent accidental contact of cats with the product, keep treated dogs separately from cats following treatment until the site of application dries. Use separate brushes to brush cats and dogs treated with this product within the last 48 hours due to possible toxicity of such transferred substance to dogs. In case of accidental use of the same brush, seek veterinary assistance if the behaviour of the cat changes. Use only the adequate package size. Top spot on Dog M or Top spot on Dog L administration is contraindicated for small dogs and dogs of small breeds. Top spot on Dog L administration is contraindicated for medium-sized dogs and dogs of medium-sized breeds.
